Doubell machines & equipment are the manufacturers & exporters of brick-making & block-making machinery as well as allied equipment. For many years now, doubell machines have been prominent & an integral part of south africa in the helping of community upliftment & social improvement by empowering disadvantaged people to empower themselves!

Company Profile

Doubell Machines is a manufacturer of brick-making machines & allied equipment. Their factory is based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, but the customer base extends across the world.

In 1989, Doubell Machines became incorporated & focussed on a unified company goal – affordable machinery to help better the community & living standards of the impoverished in south africa, creating a sustainable income for all involved.

Since inception, Doubell Machines has strived for quality, proving their brick & block machines design in the field repeatedly. At the same time, without compromising on quality, the company has kept in place a policy that product prices would only change once a year – despite rise in metal & labour costs multiple times in between. This aligns itself with the company goal of reliability.

While the core business focus is only brick-making machines, the product growth has been into all areas brick-making related, including mixers, barrows, hoppers & other complimentary offerings.

The ISO9001-2000 certification will allow doubell machines to increase exports to other countries, with increased customer confidence that the company produces its goods on sound business principles & quality manufacturing processes.

Hyperstat Machines:

The HYPERSTAT is another Doubell creation. Every aspect of simplicity has gone into this machine. Uniquely, it can take almost any mould within its parameter, like paving slabs, interlocking or cobble stone pavers, dog-bone pavers, fish tail or dove tail pavers, arrow head , z lock or hexagon pavers.

The Hyperstat can manufacture stock bricks, maxi-bricks, face bricks, rock-face or patterned decorative bricks etc. Going up the scales, it can produce solid blocks, cavity blocks of all shapes and dimensions, retaining wall blocks, curb stones, lock blocks, deck blocks, face blocks, interlocking blocks, and even wind-blocks. If we haven't got the mould, we'll make the mould, and if need be we'll cast the shape desired in our foundry!

Jumbo MK2 Machines:

Doubell Jumbo MK II Machines are world famous for being easy to use brick-making machines at very affordable prices.

• Basic Jumbo MK II

It does not include a mould - You must select one or more of the interchangeable moulds on the mould price list and add this to your machine.

• Jumbo MK II with External 3 Phase Vibrator

Fitted with an EXTERNAL 3 PHASE VIBRATOR together with electric switch-gear, push button and overload protection. This price excludes the mould/s which you will select.

• Jumbo MK II with External 3 Phase Vibrator

Fitted with a special SINGLE PHASE VIBRATOR together with starter, overload protection and push button. Price excludes the interchangeable mould/s you select from the list. 

• Hyperstat Roller Conveyor 2m

2 metre section of adjustable roller conveyor. Depending on the distance you wish to convey your production, will determine the total length you need. (Ideal is a total of 8 metres) these are all-weather units, relatively maintenance free.

• Jumbo MK2 Static Adaptor

Converts an egg-laying Jumbo MK2 brick-maker into a static machine producing units onto pallets instead.

Jumbo MK 3 Machines:

IS BIGGER 'BETTER'? If that is the way you feel, we have developed a machine for your needs. The JUMBO MK 3. We kept all the attributes of the DOUBELL JUMBO RANGE: Speed Simplicity, Robustness, Manual or Electrical, Few moving parts, Adaptable, Reliable and Expandable.

Like the MK2, it can accept over 33 different interchangeable moulds as well as infinite custom built moulds that can be made to suit your requirements. It uses the same basic principles and thus has a cycle drop time of around 25 seconds. This machine is extremely dependable and does deliver the goods! It is better to utilise two operators for maximum production. With so little to go wrong, production is increased due to time not wasted.

The MK3 egg layer can use in excess of 50 tons of material per day, so it is advisable to use a Doubell Panmixer to keep up with its capabilities.

This code applies to a SPECIAL SWIVEL BARROW designed to tip mixture directly into the hopper of the JUMBO machines. Otherwise called a Tip barrow, due to the tipping action. Stabilising the barrow with your foot allows you to steady the barrow whilst tipping.

• Quick mix

Quick mix will aid the brick & block-making process by adding lubrication to the aggregate for faster compaction, even vibration, smoother finish & longer lasting moulds. If you are experiencing minor cracks, try some QuickMix.

Panmixers:

Doubell Panmixers are the most essential accessories when streamlining your brickyard. It helps mix the aggregate, cement & water thoroughly & uniformly. A swivel opening allows the mixture to fall into the waiting tip barrow or chute of your static machine.

A brick making machine is only as fast as your mix will allow you. Installing a high-speed machine means very little unless there is a constant availability of ready mix. We have designed a robust, yet simple mixer to ensure a rapid supply of mixture. The DOUBELL range of mixers all have inner linings, so that, when these are worn out, they can simply be replaced, together with the mixing tools (paddle shoes). In this way, your mixer should last for many years, where you need only periodically replace the worn out sections.

Our Panmixers operate on a robust, rapid mix cycle, specifically designed for semi-dry mix as used in cement brick/paver/block manufacturing process. The 200 Litre mixers can deliver around 30 to 40 cubic metres of mix per day (8hrs.) and the 300 Litre , up to 55 cubic metres. With a minimum of about 60 sec per batch, the labour/time saving aspect justifies the price and the Pan Mixer now becomes an asset to any brickmaking operation undertaken.

Vibrating Tables:

Some building units require more cement ratio than would be classified as a brick or block mixture - we call it "wet mix" & is not suitable for any brick-making machine as the cement would be near impossible to eject from the mould. In such cases, one would make use of a wet mix mould, which is filled with cement & placed on a vibrating table to dispel airbubbles & ensure even saturation.

A good example is Cobblestone - they are manufactured is done in this way & thus to extend out range of machinery, we now offer a Doubell option for wet-mix manufacture - the Vibrating Table.

Skip Loader:

The Skiploader is an additional machine designed to streamline the brickmaking process. Raw materials are pre-loaded into the skiploader so that when the Panmixer has completed mixing a batch, the skiploader can dump a full mix load directly into the panmixer, eliminating the context wait time for loading the cement, sand and/or crusher into the pan.

For each cycle, this can eliminate up to a few minutes, which ensures that mixture is readily available & bottlenecks do not occur.

Adding a skiploader will increase mixture production output to allow the consideration of having a single panmixer for two brick machines.
